“Everything was so calm and controlled.”
I had my elective c-section at Darent Valley Hospital in August 2020, despite being in the middle of the pandemic. The whole experience at the hospital was amazing. I was lucky enough to request the midwife (Emily) who had helped me the previous year with my eldest daughter born at 34 weeks.
Everything was so calm and controlled. My partner and I had taken hypnobirthing classes at the hospital the previous year, so we used the breathing techniques from that to remain calm, which really helped. My surgeon was so friendly too, and the whole environment put us at ease.
I had asked Emily if she could take some photos for us, so she captured this beautiful moment of my little Lottie being born. It’s a photo I will treasure so much and shows how beautiful c-section births can be!
