I was due to be induced, but when I arrived, I was already in labour. The staff on the antenatal ward looked after me wonderfully. I was very anxious, after a very traumatic delivery with my first son at a different trust.
Every member of staff that I met were calm and reassuring. When I made it up to delivery, a fabulous midwife called Rowan looked after me. Her care enabled me to feel in control and to enjoy the birth of my daughter, Luna. It was one hour and ten minutes of active labour - and the entire experience was calm and natural. In fact, I was so calm that I requested a cup of tea five minutes before bub made an arrival!
To experience the calm of myself, Rowan and my husband in the delivery room - was such a stark contrast to my previous experience.
Tunbridge Wells is a lovely, supportive and safe place to have a baby.
