The Kent & Medway LMNS is made up of colleagues working with women and expectant families, finding ways to improve maternity services together. Staff from many local organisations and many different professions are involved. By working in partnership across organisations, we can design local services around what is wanted and needed for safe, personalised maternity care in the 21st century.

Our challenge is to successfully implement all key national policies and standards, including:

● Better Births (2016) including Continuity of Carer models

● The NHS Long Term Plan (2019)

● NHS Resolution Maternity Incentive Scheme

● Health Education England Maternity Workforce Strategy (2019)

● Neonatal Critical Care Review

● National Maternity Digital Strategy (under review)

● Recommendations of the Ockenden Report

Given the challenges facing maternity services, this can only be achieved by women, staff, managers and other professionals listening to each other and working together.
